Feminism, Leadership, and Organizing Workshop

17-21 April, 2025
Amman, Jordan

Ahel and Takatoat conducted a dynamic workshop to foster a deeper and more insightful understanding of feminism within our community and the MENA region. The session highlighted the importance of examining various feminist concepts and how these ideas manifest across different contexts and environments.

The workshop, held from 17 to 21 April 2025, was attended by Insight Eye’s Research Director and Client Service Lead, Bara'ah Al-Hyasat , who actively participated in and contributed to the sessions. It spanned five days and combined interactive academic learning with collaborative brainstorming. It was thoughtfully designed to reflect women's experiences in the Jordanian community, drawing participation from women of diverse educational backgrounds, ethnicities, and social classes.

The content explored the foundations of patriarchy and its impact on societal structures, while also introducing participants to the core principles and values of feminism. The workshop covered the main schools of feminist thought; including liberal, radical, socialist, and postcolonial feminism, and discussed how each approach can inform activism and leadership in different settings.

The goal was to create a balanced and comprehensive point of view, enabling creative and successful women to share their personal journeys, challenges, and success stories. Participants contributed not only their experiences but also valuable perspectives that enriched the collective learning environment.

The workshop served as and manifested a powerful platform for exchanging values and knowledge, inspiring participants to lead and organize with a feminist lens.
